An excerpt of part of a chapter of my book "The NightWatchman" is posted below; that describes my deliverance from demonic bondages, and God's direction and intervention to bring me out of all Satanic participation, and into freedom, and redemption in Christ.
You can break free from every evil practice-you can decide to turn around and surrender your life to Christ, and allow Him to set your feet on solid ground, and walk in righteousness in this world. His shed blood has the power to set the sinner free, and give you purpose, and the assurance of eternal life in heaven with Jesus when you leave this world.
Before Halloween comes, I pray that all who read this, will consider your life. Where do you want to be in 100 years?.....sounds like a long time doesn't it- it's a few blinks of the eye.....a vapor. We make our choices here in this world- I pray you'll decide to make changes in your life- for the sake of your eternal soul. Choose Jesus, and live.
Excerpt from "The NightWatchman"-
"A couple of weeks after my salvation, after I finished the morning dishes, poured another cup of coffee, I took my bible and headed for my favorite chair to study. I set my coffee down on the stand by the chair and went back to the kitchen to get a pad and pencil, for taking notes. As I stepped back into the living room, the Presence I’d come to know from the first day I was saved, came into the house again, and silence.
I stopped in between the rooms, I knew it was the Lord. Then I heard,
“You have many books and materials that are Satanic and of the occult on your shelves-you need to destroy them. They are an abomination to Me.”
I looked over at the bookcase at the other end of the room, I knew He was right.
“What do you want me to do with them?”
“Open your stove, and burn them.”
I looked at the wood stove, it was burning steady, and full of hot coals. I went to the bookcase and took arms full to the floor next to the stove, opened the door, and began throwing them in, a couple at a time. Needless to say, the house became so hot, I had to open several windows, and even the door a couple of times to cool the house down; but by the end of the day, they, and all the occult objects were gone.
When this was done, the Lord spoke again to me and said,
“Now, speak to the demons of witchcraft, sorcery, all necromancy, horoscopes, the occult, and wizardry, one at a time-command them to leave in My Name, and break their hold over your life. Take authority over them, and tell them to leave you and never come back, in My Name. Then ask for forgiveness, renounce all activity in these things, and ask for healing and cleansing from all of it”.
“Where is this in your word, that I must do this”?
“Go to Luke chapter 10:17-19, Mark 16:17, Mark 3:14,15, Acts 16:18”
I knew nothing about these verses, and had to take the time to look them up and read them. When I did, they confirmed what the Lord had said to me:
Luk 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Luk 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
Mar 3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
Mar 3:15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
Act 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
The next day, the Lord prompted me to get rid of the rock music and comic books as well; this was difficult for me, and I had to ask for help to be obedient. My flesh liked many of the favorites I’d collected over the years-and I enjoyed the rock beat. Satan knows this, rock music is his music-he created it for one reason, to destroy the young people. He’s done a very good job. The comic books were hard to destroy because they were a link to my young childhood, but the superheroes were what the Lord wanted gone-and the demonic bondage’s; every superhero is a demon, brought to life.
Note: When the Holy Spirit spoke to me of the need to get rid of the comic books, and ask for forgiveness, and break demonic bondage’s from them, it made perfect sense to me, I had vivid memories of things that happened when I was a kid that were linked to having these superhero’s in my life. Being a brand new believer, I had no interactions yet with other people who called themselves Christians-but would not give up their idols/pagan worship. I wanted to be free from every bondage, and was willing to listen to the Lord’s instruction and correction. I was to quickly learn that a great many people, including those who say they are Christians, won’t let go of the things they enjoy, even if it’s shown to them from scripture that what they are doing is wrong, and they should get rid of it. They consciously rebel, just like so many shown in the bible, and hang on to the demonic images, and live out the consequences. Their lives and the choices they make, reveal how much they are truly surrendered to the Lord, or how much they stay bound by sin, and rebellion.
The condition of this country, and the world today, also show how demonic it is now. Satanism, the occult and witchcraft is right out in the open today, and people watch it put out in their faces during Superbowl halftimes shows, and multitudes of other media sources-every day. The world now is saturated with wickedness and evil; it is ready for judgment. We are now living in the days Jesus describes would be the sign of the last days, the days of Noah. The closer a believer gets to the Lord, and the deeper the walk with Him, the less you will fit in with this world. You will be rejected, and find more and more, you will not fit in with the crowd. Our level of love and commitment to Him will be tested, our entire life. But the other side of this is, the greater the surrender, the greater the sense of His presence, and ability to be of greater service to the Lord, in the spiritual realm.
When these items were destroyed the Lord let me know I needed to repent specifically for allowing these things in my life, and renounce them as well by name. I did, and simply asked the Lord to replace the bondage’s with His forgiveness, mercy and heal my soul and spirit. I was shown demonic bondage’s attached to these things, and again, I had to call them out by name, and cast them out. They left, there was no great manifestations, but there was some coughing, sneezing, and sweating-I was determined to be free, and they put up only little resistance.
My spirit felt the release; there was a freedom and a new sense of peace, and a heightened discernment and a lightness I’d never known before. People do not realize the darkness, and deception they are held under, when they allow these satanic things into their life. They truly are walking in darkness, and don’t know it. Now free, I became aware of the level of darkness I had been in, when these acts of obedience opened the door for the light and power of the Lord’s presence to come into my soul.
In the weeks to come during times of study and prayer, the Lord would speak to me of other areas that needed specific attention in my life, and repentance and healing. The years I was married to my first husband, the sin in our life, my promiscuity, adultery, sexual sins. He showed me I needed to openly forgive my mother, and yes, the uncle who Satan used to get me involved with the man who molested me; and yes, the man who molested me and used me. I was shown the importance for my own soul-to forgive them, break bondage’s off my life from all involvement with them, and for a complete healing from the sins involved with them.
Now, for the first time, at 25 yrs. of age, I was totally free from every bondage, and saved for eternity in Christ-born again. As the scripture describes:
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
At this point I want to emphasize several points about this time in my life. I believe it matters, because it will destroy many wrong conceptions people have today about God’s interactions with us.
After salvation, healing/whether physical or spiritual, and deliverance, often takes time, and allowing the Lord to take us through stages of healing. It’s the same with spiritual warfare- people can’t truly be delivered until they want to be. Many deliverance sessions end in failure, because the person doesn’t really want to be free, and aren’t willing to pay the price by obedience to the word of God. Or the person’s spirit hasn’t been enlightened enough to understand where they need the deliverance/and haven’t come to the place of cooperation with the Holy Spirit. We have to learn how God moves in a person to bring them out of bondage-it may take years of prayer, and coming against the powers of darkness in the persons life-before we see the victory. If the person continues in their sin, and won’t budge, and their heart becomes completely hardened-he/she may die in their sins, and end up in hell-the battle is to the death, our adversary the devil is out to do just that-kill, steal and destroy. I am much more aware now, how much prayer it took, by many, and how powerfully God moved in my life, to get me to salvation, and freedom. I’ll only know the extent of it, in heaven."
It's my prayer that instead of waking on Halloween, and planning to celebrate the devil's holiday; you'll look up and say with the psalmist:
Psa 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psa 118:25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Psa 118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
Psa 118:27 God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
Psa 118:28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
Psa 118:29 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
