I’ve had seniors on my mind this week, especially elder women. At times, regrets of past mistakes and sins can come to trouble us and bring thoughts of sadness.
Perhaps a divorce, a wrong relationship, an abortion that you had in younger years, has returned to your mind; and you find yourself rehearsing the events, and dealing with the sorrow of wrong choices, that cannot be changed.
I made many mistakes, and wrong choices before I came to the Lord. I know that the Lord has forgiven me, but at times the sadness does come, and when it does; I return to the feet of Jesus, and talk to Him about it. Just to ask Him to help me receive once again His assurance of the forgiveness He’s given me, and to ask for his help to walk in that wholeness; as He wants me to.
Coming into your senior years, with the changes that happen to our bodies can be difficult, and sometimes women who’ve had abortions do suffer physical problems as they grow older. Be sure to tell your doctor if there is any changes in your body concerning menstruation and menopause. Cervical and Ovarian cancer are concerns for older women, and if you’ve had abortions, this is a greater concern.
If you are an older woman who has come across this post, and are suffering the guilt, sadness, and sorrow of the loss of a baby you’ve aborted, Jesus Christ is there for you. There is nothing you’ve done that He will not forgive. Let Him be your healer in this situation.
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Psa 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
